2. What were the fears of the Irreconcilables and Reservationists about the Treaty of Versailles, namely the League of Nations, that lead them to reject the Treaty? Using the cartoon, you should be able to identify some of their fears. Identifying what is happening in the cartoon would be helpful.
During WWI, President Wilson restricted greatly the actions of Americans; speaking out against the government and threatening to take any job action such as a strike were considered sedition. Using the cartoons, you should be able to identify what Wilson and the courts deemed illegal behavior and why, and how this challenged American’s civil rights.
