  2. Lesson One: Getting PowerChart Started At the end of this lesson you will know: • How to get the program started • How to login • Common login errors • What to do if you step away from your computer • How to maintain password integrity

  3. Signing On to eKiDs PowerChart using Citrix To sign in to eKiDs PowerChart using Citrix you first log in to the Citrix Web interface. You can access it in three ways • Select the eKiDs icon on your Desktop. • On KDnet, under Popular Links, select Citrix Web Access. • Type “eKiDs” into your web browser. • .

  4. Signing on to Citrix • Sign in at the Citrix Log in screen. • Your User name and Password will be the same as your Network User name and Password.

  5. Signing On to eKiDs PowerChart using a Zero Client To sign in to eKiDs PowerChart when using a Zero Client • When powered up, the login screen appears and prompts you for your domain username and password. Your User name and Password will be the same as your Network User name and Password • To access PowerChart, double-click on it.

  6. Reset Your Domain Password All new users Active Directory/Domain passwords are set up to expire the first time you log in.  • The first time you log in you will be prompted to change your password. • Your Active Directory/Domain password will need to be changed every 180 days.

  7. Reset Your Domain Password Steps to Change your Active Directory/Domain password: Login to Citrix with your current username and password.  Click on Specops Password Enrollment icon. Complete the available fields for Current password and new enrollment if this is the first time you are enrolling.

Logging Into eKiDs PowerChart • Double click on the PowerChart icon to display the log in screen. • Enter your User Name in the designated field. • Enter your Password in the designated field. • Click OK or the Enter key. NOTE: Zero-clients use pass-through functionality, so once you are logged in to the zero client, you will not be prompted to log into the application

  9. What If I Would Like to Change My PowerChart Password? If you would like to change your password at some point after your initial login, you may click on Task and select the ChangePassword option from the menu bar. Complete the fields on the Change Password screen.

  10. Common Login Errors • A Security Failure error will occur if you have made a mistake while typing in your User Name and Password or if you are not yet authorized to access PowerChart. • If you try to login three times in a row and are unsuccessful, you will be given an error message but may immediately attempt to sign back on.

  11. Where Does My Username Come From? • Your Username is created by the Information Services Security team. • Your Username is unique to you. • Your Username will generally be the first six letters of your last name followed by your first and middle initials.

If You Have To Step Away From Your Computer Please secure your system by one of the following methods: • Suspend Button is used to temporarily lock your computer when you intend to return after a brief moment • The Exit icon places you in the Exit application window where you can exit the application. Note: Do not use the at the top right corner of the window to exit eKiDs as this may cause system issues. When using ZeroClients , • Click Disconnect to leave the application open and walk away • Select Log Off from the Start menu when you have finished working with an application completely

Important Points About Your Password • Must contain at least 8 characters • Must not contain more than 30 characters • Must contain at least 1 lowercase letter • Must contain at least 1 number • Must not contain your username • Must not contain words from the password dictionary • Must not contain 3 or more consecutive identical characters • Must not repeat any of your previous 24 passwords • You should change your password if you think it may have been compromised. • You will not be allowed to reuse old Passwords. • A valid password must be at least 8 characters in length and contain one number. • The strongest passwords contain a mixture of letters, numbers and special characters.

  14. Maintaining Password Security • Never write your password down. • Choose a password you can memorize. • If you forget your password, call the IS help desk at 668-7075 to have your password reset. • Login immediately after it has been reset and change your password.

  15. But Most Importantly… • Your Username and Password when taken together are the same as your LEGAL signature, so NEVER share your password with anyone!!!
