  11. (Para. 2)Upon departure, please leave in your room. Upon departure is a prepositional phrase used as adverbial of time, meaning immediately after departure. Upon is the same as on in this case. Example: Upon departure, please check your luggage again in case something is left behind. • (Para. 3) An iron and ironing board is available upon request. Upon request is used in the similar way as upon departure. This is a useful phrase in business English. Example: Breakfast can be brought to the room upon request. back
