FDR status - general tasks

The FDR Weekly Offline Meeting discussed key tasks and progress as of September 19, 2007. The meeting included a review of the previous week's presentation, updates on the near completion of the FRD planning tool led by Patricia, and the assignment of expert names from Yves. Initial data taking efforts with test beams have commenced for PHOS and EMCAL. There was a focus on automatic reconstruction of raw data, specifically for EMCAL, using AliRoot v.4-06-rev02, and discussions on output formats, data replication, and analysis responsibilities on Grid/CAF.

FRD structure and phases • See presentation of last week • FRD planning is almost complete and put in the planning tool (Patricia) • Yves has collected the FDR expert names per detector - these will be assigned to the tasks • Some data taking (test beams) has already started (PHOS/EMCAL Weekly Offline meeting

  3. Registered RAW data in AliEn Apart from the large traffic, ALICE::CERN::SE has up to 5000 concurrent connections ~2TB of data Weekly Offline meeting

  4. Phase I steps • Automatic reconstruction of the raw • Yves has started with EMCAL data with AliRoot v.4-06-rev02 • We need to set up the automatic reconstruction • Output - only ESD. Is something else needed? • Automatic replication • Both RAW and ESD - need to decide to which sites (none of the T1s, with the exception of NDGF has an xrootd-enabled storage yet) • CAF and analysis - fast feedback • Who will do the analysis on the Grid/CAF?
