  2. What will you Find • The actual Computer • The Power Cord (Comes in two parts.)

  3. How to begin… • If you are at home, plug in the AC Adapter in order to conserve on the battery power. • To turn on the computer, open the top and push the power button at the top right hand side of the keyboard. • Once it boots up, you will see a desktop with icons for the various programs available.

  4. What happens if… • You leave it alone for more than a few minutes. • The screen will go black and will hibernate. • Just move the mouse a little or touch a key and it will come right back to where it was when you left if alone.

  5. Beginning your work • Use your finger to make the curser move over the desired program. • Double click the left button in order to open the program. • Use the program as you would on any other computer. Mouse pad

  6. Saving your work • You will not be permitted to save any of your work on the computers C drive. You will be required to have a disc or a flash drive.

  7. When you save… • Go to the File menu and click on “Save As” • Drop down the menu for “Save In” • If you have a disc, go to DVD-RW Drive (E:) • If you have a flash drive, go to Local Disk (D:)

  8. To Finish Saving your Work • The DVD-RW drive is located on the right hand side of the computer. Simply push the little button and the door opens up a bit for you to slide your disc into the computer. • The USB Port for your Flash Drive is also located on the right side of the computer. Just plug your drive into the port.

  9. Before you Finish • Don’t forget to take the Flash Drive or the Disk out of the Computer. • Close out the program that you were using. • Press the Power Button, a dialog will appear on screen asking if you want to shut down, reboot, or hibernate the computer, select “shut down” and wait for the computer to turn off. • Unplug the AC adapter and store in the Computer case properly. • Return to the library in the same manner that you received the computer.
