College for ALL • In 2008, median earnings of workers with bachelor’s degrees were 65 percent higher than those of high school graduates ($55,700 vs. $33,800). • Similarly, workers with associate’s degrees earned 73 percent more than those who had not completed high school ($42,000 vs. $24,300). -“Education Pays 2010,” College Board Advocacy and Policy Center

College for ALL • 27 percent of people with post-secondary licenses or certificates—credentials short of an associate’s degree—earn more than the average bachelor’s degree recipient • Less than 30 percent of young adults earn a bachelor’s degree by their mid-20s. —“Preparing the Workers of Today for the Jobs of Tomorrow” Council of Economic Advisors

The Solution - CTAE • To develop a 21st Century workforce through world class Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education. • Bring relevance to the classroom • Find students Strengths/Weaknesses • Prepare students to be leaders and entrepreneurs • Show connections between academics and practical • Hands-on/ Minds-on

  7. NEW CTAE • Requires every student to: • Challenging Curriculum • Hands-on Experience (Work-Based learning, etc.) • High Academic Skills • Pathway to Higher Learning (College)
