  2. Galileo Galilei 1564-1642 • He was born 15. February 1564 and he died 8. January 1642 • Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher • He is a major person in the Scientific Revolution • He developed the telescope and with that he discovered:- four largest moons of Jupiter - noticed phases of Venus- made observation and analysis of sunspots

Physics • Galileo conducted several experiments with pendulums • Galileo's theoretical and experimental work to describe the movement of the pieces became the basis for classical mechanics • Galileo determined the correct mathematical law acceleration: the distance from the rest, is proportional to the square of the elapsed time(dxt²)

  4. The word ”pendulum” comes from a latin word ”pendulus”, which means ”hanging” • The pendulum was invented by Ibn Yunus in 1000-century Abu al-Hasan 'Ali ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Yunus al-Sadafi al-Misri (Ibn Yunus)
