  1. “Decoding Daniel”

  2. 5 Principles (Knowing the Scriptures) • Scripture interprets scripture • Do not form your doctrine from one portion of scripture (Full or all the Gospel) • Do not receive something new just because someone well known says it (be teachable but not gullible)

  3. 5 Principles (Knowing the Scriptures) • Live with the awareness that the Bible is clear: in the Last Days people will not tolerate sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:3, endure, tolerate, put up with) • Do not take scripture out of context

  4. Do not take scripture out of context • The Book of Daniel’s most famous scripture • From an online search, its the scripture in Daniel that more sermons are preached on • The scripture we know well and can quote

  5. Daniel 11 (KJV) 32And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits

  6. New Covenant (2 Peter 2) NLT 17 These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as mist blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness. 18They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With an appeal to twisted sexual desires, they lure back into sin those who have barely escaped from a lifestyle of deception.

  7. New Covenant (2 Peter 2) NLT 19They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.

  8. New Covenant (2 Peter 2) NLT 20And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.

  9. New Covenant (2 Peter 2) NLT 21It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.

  10. Doing Exploits • Daniel 11 – War, conflict, trouble, judgement, great wickedness in culture • When we were looking at Daniel 1 & 2, Daniel was a young man, most likely a teenager, but by Daniel 11 he is an old man

  11. Doing Exploits • He is giving a warning about the future, but from a man who lived out his life, the Jewish people knew what he lived through • Daniel did exploits (Hall of Faith Hebrews 11)

  12. The Struggle • The Fear • Angry • Temptation • Endurance and Commitment • Spiritual Warfare • Persecution • Unpopular Message

  13. Exploits through the Struggles • Exploits – asah - to do, fashion, accomplish, make • to do, work, make, produce • to do • to work • to deal (with) • to act, act with effect, effect

  14. Daniel 11:32b • But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him. (NLT) • but the people who [are spiritually mature and] know their God will display strength and take action [to resist]. (AMP)

  15. Daniel 11:32b • but the people who know their God will display strength and take action. (NAS) • but those who stay courageously loyal to their God will take a strong stand. (MSG)

  16. Do Exploits • Exploit – act of bravery that accomplishes something great, especially under unusual times and circumstances of difficulty, when the opposition would cause many, if not most, to NOT act, but the one that acts anyway even at great risk to themselves • This sums up Daniel’s life

  17. Exploits • In the midst of the struggle during Daniel’s life he did exploits

  18. Exploits • In his highs and lows through times of rejection and times of great influence, Daniel kept growing in his relationship, and as a result of that he did exploits for the Kingdom of God that we are still talking about 2700 years later.

  19. Exploits • So, in Daniel 11:32, knowing his days on earth are numbered, he is saying you are going go through things but if you will continue knowing God you will do exploits also.

  20. Exploits • We all face struggles and see many things going on in the world around us that try to intimidate us and tempt us, but there is a prophetic call from God that is coming through the words of Daniel that are just as true today as they were in Daniel’s Day.

  21. Exploits • It is Time to Rise Up and truly Know Me and you shall do exploits for my Kingdom. • True humility.
