  2. Northwest Middle School History The property located at 5252 West Palmer was the previous site of Weber High School. The Chicago Public Schools purchased the property in the summer of 1999 and the property was transformed from an all boys Catholic High School into a 6th, 7th, 8th grade middle school called Northwest Middle. The school opened in September of 1999 with approximately 670 students and at one time had an enrollment of 1, 161. Presently, the 2013-14 enrollment is just under 700 students and 55 teachers and staff. As of 2012-2013, there were 669 students enrolled at NORTHWEST of which 95.7% were low income students, 9.7% were Special Education Students and 23.9% were Limited English Learners. As of 2012-2013, the largest demographic at NORTHWEST was Hispanic. As of that time, this demographic made up 93.7% of the student population. The second greatest demographic was Black at 3.7%.

  7. Graduation Rate 2012-13 Of our 250 8th grade students, 240 were graduates in 2013. This results in a 96% graduation rate. Promotion Rate Of the 480 in 6th and 7th grade during the 2012-13 school year, 99.9% of these students were promoted to the next grade. Congratulations
