  3. Venus • Venus is the second planet from the sun • It is covered in thick clouds • Has no moon • It’s temperature can be 900 degrees Fahrenheit • It takes 243 days to rotate on it’s axis • A year on Venus is 255 days long • Venus has no atmosphere

  4. Earth • The 3rd planet in the solar system • The planet we live on and the only one with life • It’s diameter is about 12,000 kilometers • Atmosphere is mostly nitrogen ands oxygen • It has one moon • 71% of it’s surface is water • 365 days in a year • It’s distance from the sun is about 93 million miles

  5. Mars • The fourth planet from the sun • Looks red • Named after a Roman god • Has two moons • Atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide • It’s diameter is 6,796 km long • It’s day is 24 hrs and 37 min long

  6. Jupiter • The 5th planet from the sun • Largest planet in the solar system • It has a great red spot which is a storm • Has at least 39 moons • It is 318 times the size of Earth • It’s diameter is 142,984 km long

  7. Saturn • It is the sixth planet from the sun • Has at least 31 moons • Has lots of rings • Is less dense than water • It’s temperature is -178 Celsius • Atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium • It is 10 times larger than Earth • Surface is made of liquid gas

  8. Uranus • The 7th planet from the sun • Was discovered by William Herschel • It takes about 84 years to orbit the sun • It has 27 moons • It temperature is -197 degrees Celsius • It’s diameter is 51,500 km • It’s days are 17 hrs long

  9. Neptune • It is the eight planet from the sun • Has eight moons • Atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium • It’s days are 16 hrs long • It takes 164 years to orbit around the sun • It’s diameter is 49,500 km
