  2. Famous Amelia Earhart became famous because she was an amazing pilot.

  3. Childhood As a child Amelia was not like other girls, and most kids didn’t like her.

  4. High School Amelia was constantly changing high schools, and she was very lonely.

  5. Parents Most parents would get mad at their daughters for doing boy things, but Amelia’s parents did not.

  6. Books Amelia wrote three best sellers. They are Last Flight, 20 hrs. 40 min., and The Fun of It.

  7. Trainer Amelia’s flying teacher was Neta Snook.

  8. Aircraft Amelia used the Lockheed Electra 10E when she tried circling the globe.

  9. Accomplishments Amelia made five world records and won many awards. She was the first woman to get the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross.

  10. Last Flight Amelia never finished flying across the globe when her plane disappeared. Nobody knows what happened.

  11. Attempts It took two attempts to fly across the world. Four people were going on the first attempt and two on the second attempt.

  12. Inspiration Amelia inspired a lot of people because she was successful.

  13. Beginning and End Amelia was born July 24, 1897 and died July 3, 1937. She was forty when she died.
