  1. WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MYSTERY

  2. BERMUDA TRIANGLE

  3. The Bermuda Triangle (also known as the Devil's Triangle) is an area bounded by points in Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico where ships and planes are said to mysteriously vanish into thin air — or deep water. • Over the years, many theories have been offered to explain the mystery. Some writers have expanded upon Berlitz's ideas aboutAtlantis, suggesting that the mythical city may lie at the bottom of the sea and be using its reputed "crystal energies" to sink ships and planes. Other more fanciful suggestions include time portals (why a rift in the space-time fabric of the universe would open up in this particular patch of well-traveled ocean is never explained) and extraterrestrials — including rumors of underwater alien bases.

  4. Also sinisterly known as the Devil's Triangle, the Bermuda Triangle consists of a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, and is defined by points in Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico. It stretches across less than a thousand miles on any one side.

  5. The term was coined in 1964 by writer Vincent Gaddis in the men's pulp magazine Argosy.  Though Gaddis first came up with the phrase, a much more famous name propelled it into international popularity a decade later.

  6. Charles Berlitz, whose family created the popular series of language instruction courses, also had a strong interest in the paranormal."

  7. . He believed not only that Atlantis was real, but also that it was connected to the triangle in some way, a theory he proposed in his bestselling 1974 book "The Bermuda Triangle .

  8. BERMUDA TRIANGLE THEORIES The Bermuda triangle is a stretch over the Atlantic Ocean, measuring less than a thousand miles on any one side .

  9. The name ‘Bermuda Triangle’ reminded a colloquial expression throughout the 1950s . By the early1960s,it acquired the name ‘Devil’s Triangle’ . Bordered by Florida , Bermuda and Puerto Rico , the location became on an account of the strange -

  10. disappearance of ships , as well as aircrafts In the area . A number of supernatural explanations have been put forward with regard to the mysterious disappearance .

  11. However , many probable logical explanations for the missing vessels include hurricanes , earthquakes , as well as magnetic fields , which render navigation devices worthless . But , most people

  12. Would not like to such boring explanations and would instead opt for more interesting options like alien abduction , giant squids or getting sucked into another dimension.

  13. Bermuda triangle survivors

  14. These witnesses constitute a long list of pilots , sailors and fishermen . • It interesting to note that Christopher Columbus was one such witness . He wrote in his memories on how his compass acted when sailing through the Bermuda Triangle.

  15. He along with another shipmate a glowing globe of light that seemed to hover over the sea. • It is said that when clouds or fog enter the Bermuda -

  16. Triangle strange things start happening . Such a phenomena has been witnessed with Philadelphia Experiment in which the USS Elbridge vanished and reappeared later miles away , with some of the crew men -

  17. Warped into the hull of the ship. • In 1901 Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain stepped into a mist and claimed to arrive at time period before the French Revolution . It is said , that the mist and the ominous clouds might be the key to time travel or entering or other dimensions .

  18. Even a great pilot like Charles Lindberg witnessed unusual events while flying in the reaches of the Bermuda Triangle . It is said that when he was making a nonstop flight from Havana to St. Louis , his magnetic compass -

  19. started rotating . His Earth-inductor – compass needle jumped back and forth erratically. This has now all been revealed in hi autobiography .

  20. ALIEN ABDUCTIONS

  21. The Bermuda Triangle is a collecting station from where aliens take our people , ships , planes and other objects back to their planets to study .

  22. POSSIBLE THEORIES OF THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE MYSTERY

  23. Scientists have claimed the environment has had a part to play in the disappearances at the Bermuda Triangle. It is cited the reasons are either man made or due to natural causes. It has been discovered by the scientists at the Cardiff University that there is a large presence of methane gas in the ocean floor of this area.

  24. There are various reasons for this occurrence. The methane gas is formed due to the decayed bodies of the sea creatures . If there were periodic eruptions of methane, it would not be able to provide the required flexibility for the ships to sail in the waters.

  25. These eruptions can cause the ships to sink without a hint of warning. During the times of such eruptions, even an aircraft faces danger, as it can catch fire immediately. Methane also constitutes the power to stall engines once it is released into the air.

  26. Another plausible theory of the Bermuda triangle cites a waterspout, caused by storms or disturbance in the weather. Underwater earthquakes can also cause severe damage and destruction without any prior warning. The region of the Bermuda triangle has shown to have intense seismic activity. This area also houses some of the deepest trenches in the world. The underwater area of the Bermuda triangle has an extremely steep

  27. drop in the ground . This could also mean that the tragic disappearance of the ships or planes could be a result of being trapped in hurricanes or storms and sinking into the depths of the oceans without ever leaving a trace, owing to the depth of the trenches.

  28. The underwater earthquakes in this region can also cause extremely large waves. For a moment, a sea that looks calm and picture perfect can be transformed into a treacherous one and these large waves are also estimated to be the reason behind all the disappearances at the Bermuda Triangle.

  29. It is also known that the people, who have entered this area, have faced problems when they have tried to use their compass. This is because, as mentioned earlier, there have been theories to cause the compass to point to the true North Pole instead of the magnetic North Pole due to the presence of certain unusual and abnormal magnetic differences in the area.

  30. SUPERNATURAL THEORIES

  31. DEATH RAYS FROM ATLANTIS

  32. Rays from the magic crystals, left from the time of Atlantis, deep down in the sea are responsible for the strange sinking of ships. However, several underwater expeditions have revealed places under the ocean that look man-made, but no such crystals have been found. In fact no real proof that Atlantis existed, was ever found.

  33. SEA MONSTERS

  34. The presence of sea monsters was the most widely believed explanation especially in the earlier times, when the existence of sea monsters was believed to be true.

  35. UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER

  36. Since the island is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, the weather is influenced by several factors and can change with lightening speed. That means that one moment you have brilliant weather, whereas the other moment, you may be faced with extremely perilous weather and hurricanes
