  2. Founded in 1989, Tijuana EDC (“DEITAC”) Desarrollo Economic e Industrial de Tijuana, A. C., Is a non-profit organization dedicated to attracting and facilitating foreign investment and the successful start-up of manufacturing operations in the Tijuana-San Diego Region.

  3. Why the Tijuana EDC is Important to the local economy • The manufacturing sector is the main driving force of the local economy. • 47% of formal employment belongs to the industrial sector. (source: IMSS) • 60% of the value of total wages and salaries belongs to the industrial sector (source: INEGI) • Industrial investment has de highest multiplier effect, with 2.1 times, more than double of other economic activities. • The export manufacturing sector has an economic impact of over $300 billion dollars annually in the local economy.
