  4. Application Development also maintains several server-based applications used by faculty, staff, and students of the Health Sciences Center. Some examples are: MD Banner student information system AMCAS admissions system Content Management System for web pages HSC Surveyor for creating web-based surveys 2/6 Application Support Back Next Main Menu App/Dev Menu

  5. Application Development is happy to help you with problems that may be solved through computer technology. This may include: Advice and aid developing new solutions Evaluating and solving problems with existing solutions Guidance for finding the sources and methods for collecting data you need. 3/6 Solution Consulting Back Next Main Menu App/Dev Menu

  6. Application Development develops custom solutions for the Health Sciences Center. To name a few: Student Notes HSC Faculty Affairs Database HSC Support Desk Application Resident Evaluation Application 4/6 Custom Development Back Next Main Menu App/Dev Menu

  7. Application Development provides assistance for web pages, web sites, and web applications. These services include: Web Site and Web Application Housing Content Management Server to ease web site development and maintenance HSC Web Presence Management Web Site consulting for planning and design Web Page and Site Development support 5/6 Web Development Back Next Main Menu App/Dev Menu

  10. The technicians can help you with questions related to supported software products troubleshooting equipment problems network connectivity issues. Full service is available 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Mon-Fri.   11. In cases where on-site troubleshooting or hardware and software installation is required, our technicians will come to your office. This service is available for: on-campus offices USF/HSC offices in designated remote locations (e.g. Davis Island) On-campus response time for problem and troubleshooting calls is generally within 8 business hours. Requests for hardware and software installations and for service at remote sites are handled on a slightly lower priority basis. 3/5 On-site Desktop Services Back Next Main Menu Support

The HSC multi-media lab is provided for the use of faculty, staff, and students in preparing the following: Presentations web pages instructional materials Support provides help for people who are new to the lab, or unfamiliar with a particular piece of hardware or software. Services available include: Image scanning Slide scanning (Creation of computer images from existing slides) Slide making (Creation of photographic slides from computer images) Video capture from tape and other sources 4/5 Multimedia Lab Back Next Main Menu Support

  13. Support also provides consultation on equipment needs. This may include: an evaluation of the current status of your desktop computer equipment a discussion about the types of work you do and the applications that you use recommendations of hardware and software appropriate to your needs 5/5 Consulting Services Back Main Menu Support

  16. Access I Pre-requisite: Windows experience. Length: 2 hr. Database design concepts Access II Pre-requisite: Access I. Length: 2 hrs. Create a simple database from scratch Access Forms Pre-requisites: Access I and II. Length: 1.5 hr. Create forms and sub-forms Access Queries & Reports Pre-requisites: Access I and II. Length 1 hr. Design worksheets and workbooks Enter data and numbers Perform simple calculations Format worksheets Relative & absolute referencing Excel II Pre-requisite: Excel I. Length: 1 hr.   18. PowerPoint I Pre-requisite: Windows experience. Length: 2 hrs. Understand the basic PowerPoint screen Create a basic presentation Format text and bullets Insert and format WordArt Use backgrounds and templates Set transitions, builds and timings Print options PowerPoint II Pre-requisite: PowerPoint I. Length: 2 hrs. Work with the Clip Organizer Insert and format tables and charts Animate slide objects Learn about speaker notes 5/6 PowerPoint Classes Back Next Main Menu Training
