About France • They have plains to mountains, forests to farmland. • Both the nuclear family and the extended family are seen as important in France. • However, some are now moving away from their extended families to study or work. • The French eat with the fork in their left hand. • Also their lettuce is folded into small pieces with the fork but never cut. • Frances population of roughly 63.7 million is growing annually at 0.59 percent. • Also it is the second largest country in Europe. • Also their natural resources are coal, iron ores, and bauxite. • They also have a high standard of living.

  3. Economics • Their growth rate is 0.1% compared to the U.S. • Per capita GDP is $35,500 • Poverty rate is 6.2% • Budget Surplus -4.5% • Inflation rate 2.3% • All of these percentages and GDPs are compared to the U.S.

  4. Culture • The French is also famous for their cuisine. French food known in the U.S are chocolates, cheese, and breakfasts like croissants. • The languages they speak are Flemish, Italian, Basque, Breton and way more. • France is renowned for it’s beautiful and extraordinary monuments. • France has in turn contributed in the development of cultures of other nations in the areas of fashion, modern art and cinema. • Most of the people from France are quite stylish and fashionable.

  5. Current Events They both were in the American and French revolution. The French Revolution lasted from 1789 until 1799. The Revolution precipitated a series of European wars, forcing the United States to articulate a clear policy of neutrality in order to avoid being embroiled in these European conflicts. France provided support to the US during the War of 1812 although they were tied up militarily with the UK in Europe. it caused a political divide. democratic republicans supported the revolution while federalists opposed it.

Fun Facts • France has the highest number of ski resorts. • France is the most visited country in the world with 75 million tourists yearly. • France ruled the second largest colonial empire in the world controlling 8.6% of the world’s land. • The most visited attraction in Paris isn’t the Eiffel Tower (5.5 million), or the Louvre (5 million), but Disneyland Paris at 13 million people. • The Eiffel Tower is painted every 7 years. • It’s the only language (along with English) that’s taught in every country in the world.
