Communitary Service Projects OBJECTIVE To present the communitary service projects and activities developed bt the “CREC”: • For the CREC Members to have knowledge of what has been done, and what we are working in, • To awaken in our club members their helping and community service spirit for them to assume their leadership role.

Rotarian Leader RESPONSABILITIES: • The planning, coordination and fundraisin for the various projects, • The planning of schedules and follow-up commitments, • The offering of logistic suppor for various activities, • The programation and development of periodic visits and meeting in the execution site, • To interact with the support teams beneficiaries, • To elaborate periodic reports to the “CREC” about the growth and progress of the projects.

  6. 1. Aces to the Future • Project of support and strengthening of academic and behavioral level of students of albania through art, sports, culture, recreation and psycological guidance

Aces to the Future OBJECTIVES • To actively promote away from alcohol, drug addiction and prostitution the outstanding youth of Albania, • To build schools of sports training, art and culture, • To provide guidance and training staff in order to improve the academic level of students of Albania.

  8. 1. Aces to the Future BENEFICIARIESOutstanding academic, athletic and artistic students. It currently covers 150 students that are working in art and sports schools and receive comprehensive guidance and growth service.

  9. 1.1 Sports Training Schools • Educational project oriented to boost sport trainning and promote healthy usage of free time of children and youth of the community of Albania.

  10. 1.1 Sports Training Schools OBJECTIVETo take away from alcohol, prostitution and drug addiction all of the youth and children in scholar years by fomenting the practice of various sports.

  11. 1.1 Sports Training Schools SCOPE • Female and male • Children and Young Adults • Football, Microfútbol, Volleyball, Basketball, Chess and Athletics.

  12. 1.1 Sports Training Schools BENEFICIARIES The 15 kids and teenagers with the best academic or sports performance. Grades 5th to 11th.

  13. 1.2 Art Schools • Educational project to boost and develop the arts, culture and reading habits and leisure time occupation of children and youth of the community of Albania.

  14. 1.2 Art Schools OBJECTIVETo appropriately manage children and teenager’s free time in order to draw them away from alcohol, prostitution and drug addiction.

  15. 1.2 Art Schools SCOPE • Male and Female • Amateurs and advanced • Reading and Literature, Music, Painting and Crafts.

  16. 1.2 Art Schools BENEFICIARIES The 15 kids and teenagers with the best academic performance or artistic talent. Grades 5th to 11th.

  17. 2. Firefly • Alphabetization y post- alphabetization for youth and adults of Albania and Cuestecitas. It will be developed during the night shifts from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

  18. 2. Firefly OBJECTIVES • Alphabetize adult illiterates of the community and provide them of basic education, orientation and personal formation, • Improve the scholarity level of the working population in Albania and Cuestecitas.

  19. 2. Firefly BENEFICIARIES • Approximately 80 illiterate adults with poor resources of Albania and Cuestecitas • Mothers and fathers (family leaders) • Employees with low school level

  20. 3. Flashlights • Night shift schools for the firefly students that wish to continue with their studies. Will be developed in Albania during the 6:30-8:30 PM shift.

  21. 3. Flashlights OBJECTIVE • It is a new opportunity to provide basic education, personal orientation and training for adult graduates of Albania and Cuestecita fireflies.

  22. 3. Flashlights BENEFICIARIES • Approximately 25 Firefly adult graduates of Albania and Cuestecita with scarce resources, willing and wanting to succeed, • Mothers and fathers who are family leaders, • Contractor employees.

  23. 4. Golden Age • Work with older adults to improve their life quality through health monitoring, and reading sessionsthat motivate them and help them increase their self-esteem

Golden Age OBJECTIVES • Group older adults from Albania in order to share with them time and experiences, and offer them the opportunity to improve their health, their recreation, and their relationship with others. • To help them feel an in important part of their community. • To make them active beneficiaries of the health financial assistance of the region

  25. 4. Golden Age BENEFICIARIES Around 80 older adults of the community that are part of the program and actively participate in all the activities.

  26. 5. Communitary Mothers • Guiding and helping communitary mothers in the educational and formation work they offer to the children that recieve the service

Communitary Mothers OBJECTIVES • To support communitary mothers, in order to develop tasks together: conferences, video-conferences, workshops, seminaries... • To educate communitary mothers for them to actualize their knowledge and recieve formation in the modern educational techniques for pre-school. • To facilitate the aquisition of didactic materials for communitary homes. • To adecuate and improve the homes where these communitary mothers educate the children. • To offer recreation to the children that recieve assistance from the communitary mothers.

  28. 5. Communitary Mothers BENEFICIARIES • Around 20 communitary mothers chosen by the “ICBF”, a goverment agency in Albania and Cuestecitas, • Around 200 children.

  29. 6. Youth in Action • Group for the organization and promotion of leadership and spirit of communitary service.

Youth in Action OBJECTIVES • To strenghten the friendship and fraternity bonds between the members, • To promote the leadership spirit in teenagers, • To stimulate the spirit of knowing and wanting to assume responsabilities in order to improve their community, • To support various communitary service projects developed by the club.

  31. 6. Youth in Action BENEFICIARIES • Around 35 teenagers that recieve education and knowledge in workshops, seminaries and conferences about how to efficiently offer services to their community, • All the community by recieving all the benefits of the various projects leaded by this group.

  32. 7. Lights • Radio show dedicated to letting know the Albania community and it’s sorrounding of all the projects and activities being developed by the “CREC” and their community service group, Youth in action.

Lights OBJECTIVES • To let know the Albania community of all the plans and tasks being developed by the Rotary Club “El Cerrejón” and their program Youth in Action. • To talk about interesting topics for the community, specially regarding health, alcoholism, prostitution, drug addiction, nutrition, behavior, environment, recreation, sports, culture,…

  34. 7. Lights BENEFICIARIES All the community of Albania and all the different areas where the radio show can be heard.

  35. 8. Recycling • Work section of the Youth in Action program dedicated to work for the protection of the environment and create conscience in the community.

  36. 8. Recycling OBJECTIVE To protect the environment by propperly managing solid wastes: paper, carton, newspaper, glass…

  38. 9. Mana • Social project made to offer nutritional aid to older adults, students and mothers which are family leaders.

  39. 9. Mana OBJECTIVES • To help the elder’s poor nutritional situation by donating groceries, • To classify, transport and organize the groceries to be donated, that will be made up of products from the Carulla – Viveros grocery store: fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs…

  40. 9. Mana BENEFICIARIES • Around 80 older adults that are part of the CREC program, • Mothers which are family leaders, that have been previously selected by the coordinating group, • Group of students with scholarship programs that get together and share their place to live in the city where they are studying.

  41. 10. Help for Preicfes Students • Education and support for students in their last year of high school in public schools of Albania and Hatonuevo, in order to get them ready for the final test and for ther future carreers.

Help for Preicfes Students OBJECTIVES • To improve the knowledge and guide the high school students coursing their last year, for their national final exam, • To offer additional courses regarding: computers, proffesional guidance, human relationships, leadership, • To guide students in obtaining spots in their chosen university, and loans with ICETEX.

  43. 10. Help for Preicfes Students BENEFICIARIES Students with service and improvement spirit, in their last year of high school in public schools of Albania (Nuestra Señora del Carmen) and Hatonuevo (Confamiliar)

  44. 11. Scholarship Students • Financial assistance for the most outstanding high school students, that have been part of the “CREC’s” social programs and have economic difficulties in their homes.

  45. 11. Scholarship Students OBJECTIVE To give the best all-around high school students, with leadershp and social abbilities, the opportunity to go to college and start their professional studies.

  46. 11. Scholarship Students BENEFICIARIES 20 teenagers from Albania, with economic difficulties in their homes. They are know studying various college courses in Rioacha, Valledupar, Santa Marta, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla.

  48. 12. Bio – Sand Water Filters • The purpose of this project is to provide safe drinking water, through the use of Bio - Sand water filter technology, as well as sanitation and hygiene education, to rural families in the region of La Guajira.

  49. 12. Bio – Sand Water Filters OBJECTIVES • To improve life quality 5,000 Wayúu people, by providing them with safe drinking water, • To decrease the levels of child mortality caused by sanitary issues (diarrhea, parasites) in the region.
