Some questions for discussion: • How can we explain the evaluation “darlings and orphans’” phenomenon? • Why are countries like Bangladesh, Philippines or Tanzania among the most evaluated countries? • How can we explain the lack of evaluations in some major ODA recipient countries? Is there an evaluation gap in conflict affected and fragile states? If so, how can this be explained? Does it have to do with the type of aid going to these countries (humanitarian vs. development?)? What other factors could explain the gap? • Are fewer evaluations being done in francophone African countries? • How can we better work in a collaborative manner towards a more rational distribution of labour in evaluation? • How can you make better use of the Inventory in your planning and implementation of evaluations? • Would you consider publishing the plans on the public website?
