On January 22, 2014, CenturyLink announced the discontinuation of Frame Relay and ATM services. Frontier Communications has also ceased accepting new requests for these services. Frame Relay and ATM circuits, historically used to connect customer field offices to the MPLS network, are now outdated, with Ethernet and other technologies advancing rapidly. Existing circuits will remain until contracts expire on June 30, 2014. CTS is assessing these circuit types and will work with customers to explore alternative options before February 18, 2014.
