Prerequisites (1) • On each computer that should run the ptschemes, labnet or extlab application, at least following microsoft component should be installed: • Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 • This add-on is available for most MS-Windows platforms (Windows 98, Windows-ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista….) • The installation is not needed on Windows7: the Windows7 - OS, already contains the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1, as upward compatibility is guaranteed by Microsoft, this version implicitly contains .Net FW 2.0 SP2 • Exacte prerequisites / download can be found on : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
Installation labnet & proficiency testing (1) • Both modules are clickonce applications that can be downloaded from their own URL : • 2 environments : TEST & PRODUCTION • TEST VERSIE • Labnet : http://www.favv.be/labos/lims/labnettest/index.htm • PTSchemes : http://www.favv.be/labos/lims/ptschemestest/publish.htm • PRODUCTIE VERSIE • Labnet : http://www.favv.be/labos/lims/labnet/index.htm • PTSchemes : http://www.favv.be/labos/lims/ptschemes/publish.htm • Application is self-installable, and remains up to date by itself. • Automatically checks for new versions at startup, and requests for installation • =>FAFSC is sure that anyone is using the latest version • Test environment available for test purposes, production switch will be requested by coordinators

Downloading applications : attention points (1) • Only Internet Explorer supported • Proxy authentication is not supported => eventual proxies should be transparant for the application • Eventually add download URLs (http://labnet.favv-afsca.be/, http://ptschemes.favv-afsca.be/ en http://www.favv-afsca.be ) to proxy server, to allow downloading • Installation protocol is http, via port 80 • Check security settings in Internet Explorer : 4 2 1 3 5

Launch applications Immediately after downloading/installation, application launches itself For each new version, the system asks for ‘working language’ Once installed, application can be started : A) From windows start menu. Start up applications : login • Immediately on startup, the application asks for login credentials (<>extlab) • Log in by using LDAP account • = intralab login • = extlab send/receive account
