  5. SIP REPRESENTATIVE Sub committee MEMBER INTEREST EMAIL - JUNE 6, 2012 Good Morning SIP Members, I would like to introduce myself…I am your newly elected SIP representative for the Florida School Nutrition Association. I am excited to represent your interests with school nutrition professionals from across the state and look forward to helping shape the direction of the organization as an executive committee member. In order for business and industry to be successful in our partnership with FSNA we need to fully participate in the organization’s decision-making process and make our voices heard. Clearly, each of us have goals and objectives for our involvement in the organization, but rarely do we unite to help shape the course of our own destiny to ensure we reach these goals. I see that changing, but only with your help and direct involvement. The time is now…I am seeking to establish a subcommittee of individuals who are willing to serve with me to set in motion the necessary wheels to ensure that we are as successful as we can be. If you interested in participating on this subcommittee please respond to this email by June 12th. Once I receive your response, I will schedule a brief conference call so we can introduce ourselves and begin strategically planning our next steps. I fully expect your commitment to this group to be just a few hours a month! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to working with everyone!

  8. SIP REPRESENTATIVE June 20, 2102 Conference call notes • Discussion Points: • Survey the FSNA and SIP membership to determine what they would like to see from the SIPS • Lack of relevancy and innovation - FSNA seems stuck in a rut of doing things the same way – • Location/space/set up issues for the annual conference • ROI is not there for SIPs any longer • One show VS two show model • SIP sponsored events instead of individually sponsored by organizations • Ways to get exposure year round instead of just at conferences • More for our SIP membership dues • Build a campaign to promote ourselves to ourselves and the membership • Better and more communication from Executive Board and SIP representative
