Jim Allard Scholarship • In the amount of $2500 • Deadline June 30 of each year • 500 word essay – why your interested in broadcast journalism, what your career goal is and how • They are looking for someone with strong leadership qualities. • http://www.cab-acr.ca/english/about/awards/scholarships/default.shtm

  4. Ruth Hancock Scholarship • In the amount of $1500 • Application deadline June 30 of each year • 500 word essay on why you’re taking a communications or marketing course, your career goals and how this scholarship will help you reach your goal. • Looking for an individual with leadership qualities and a willingness to help others. • http://www.cab-acr.ca/english/about/awards/scholarships/default.shtm

Joan Donaldson Scholarship • You participate in an interview session and if successful; • Receive a $2000 cash award, training, and a 4-month paid internship with CBC. • Many recipients of this award find employment with CBC as a journalist. • It is meant to reward those with exceptional academic performance. • http://www.cbc.ca/joandonaldsonscholars/aboutschol.html

  6. Strategic Alliance of Broadcasters for Aboriginal Reflection Scholarship • $5000 scholarship to be used for academic costs or living expenses. • Deadline • In order to be eligible you must be an Aboriginal, Métis or Inuit permanent Canadian resident, have a desire to follow a path to a career in the broadcast industry.

  7. Benefits of Scholarships • You don’t have to worry about working while going to school. • They can help you pay tuition and other school related costs. • Some assist you with living expenses. • Some offer summer employment or paid interests as a bonus to the scholarship.
