Research • Founded in 1950 • Started out as 200 Athletic trainers with no degrees • Once housed in Greenville, North Carolina • Now total more than 30,000 plus • Students who want to become certified athletic trainers must earn a degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum such as injury and illness.
