Freedom Reading Program

The Freedom Reading Program encourages students to engage in reading by tracking their minutes each week. Students must log a minimum of 100 minutes to earn a perfect score of 100. Late submissions receive partial credit, with 70% for one day late and 50% for two days late. Reading should occur both outside of school and during silent reading in class, with logs documented in the agenda. Each student is required to read twelve Reading Counts books throughout the year, distributed evenly across four nine-week periods. Tests for these books can be taken only in the library.
