  4. Ordinance Summary • Provides for funding of: • Central Florida Sports Commission for FY 2011/12 thru FY 2015/16 in the amount of $135,000 per FY • Tourist Development Council approved funding on June 29, 2011

  5. Ordinance Summary • Provides for funding of: • Florida Classic Football Games for FY 2011 thru FY 2015 in the amount of $137,500 per game • Tourist Development Council approved funding on June 29, 2011

Central Florida Sports Commission • Funded by the TDT since FY 1992/93 • Promotes Central Florida for various sporting events such as • NCAA East-West Shrine Game • Disney Cup Fall Nationals • FHSAA Swimming & Diving Championships • FHSAA Football Finals • 160 Events with $315 million Economic Impact since inception

  9. Florida Classic • Started in 1978 • In Orlando since 1997 • 2011 was the 32nd game • Draws approximately 60,000 fans • Funded by TDT since 1999

Actions Requested • Approval of the Amendment to the Tourist Development Plan; and • Approval and execution by the Orange County Mayor, or designee, of the Central Florida Sports Commission Agreement; and • Approval and execution by the Orange County Mayor, or designee, of the Florida Classic Football Game Grant Agreement.
