This study examines the application of varying coefficient models to analyze the ecological dynamics of Loch Leven from 1968 to 2002. It utilizes a comprehensive dataset with 150 measured variables, exploring interactions between physical, chemical, and biological aspects of the lake, as well as weather patterns. The research employs linear regression and varying-coefficient models to uncover the relationships affecting chlorophyll levels. Insights gained aim to enhance the understanding of lake ecosystem responses to environmental changes.
