Beginning of a Career • Dre joined World Class Wreckin’ Cru in 1984 but found little success in the group’s music • In 1986, Dre met Ice-Cube who would lead him to N.W.A. were Dre would have one of the most successful times of his life • Dre left N.W.A. at the peak of its popularity at the advice of a friend, The D.O.C.
Going Solo • Signed to Death Row Records • His first album “The Chronic” • Assisting other artists in the recording of their music
The Hits Keep Rollin’ • Left Deathrow Records and went to Aftermath Entertainment • 1999, Dre’s second album “2001” was released • The album went 6 times platinum
Change to Producer • After the release of “2001”, Dre shifted focus to producing music instead of recording • Producing career was extremely successful, winning multiple awards like The Life Time Achievement award • Still interested in releasing material, “Detox” will be released later this year, his first album in 10 years
