  1. WELCOME TO OUR PRESENTATION

  2. DryCare Hawaii Inc. 45-558 #B3 Kamehameha Hwy Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744 • We are not chem-dry or host. • Commercial & Hospitality • Upholstery & Office Panel Cleaning • Entryway Flooring Systems and Custom Logo Mats • Programmed Carpet Maintenance • Check out our website @ www.drycarehawaii.com

  3. What is MilliCare? A carpet maintenance franchise network with more than 15-years experience providing services for commercial & hospitality clients. Our cleaning process utilizes MilliCare’s unique absorbent polymers, we also do hot water extraction on carpets that require restorative cleaning. We sell SERVICES! - not products True “Dry” Carpet Cleaning Process! Developed by Milliken Carpets to clean and maintain all types of carpets no matter the brand!

  4. MilliCare High Performance Cleaning • MilliCare’s dry-cleaning method is : • Non-toxic • No slip and fall risk • No facility downtime • No water introduced into facility • Non abrasive to carpet fiber or backing (gentle) • Removes odors from carpet, no wet-carpet smell • Effective on all commercial carpet types and constructions • Removes soil and particulates rather than moving them around. • Removes surface fungi, allergens and bacteria from carpet. • Works with HVAC to reduce airborne particulates and VOCs. • No solvent carriers or detergent residues to accelerate carpet re-soiling and emit VOCs into facility.

  5. Adsorbent Polymer Powder Data • Adsorbent polymer particle adsorbs 80-95% of its own weight in soil and particulates. Inorganic substrate. • Contains 40%, by weight, water-based non-ionic surfactant wetting agent • Uses no solvents as carriers and leaves no detergent residue • Non-emitter of VOCs and inert, non-toxic • Low specific gravity assures vacuum recovery of polymer and soil • Powder particle is non-abrasive • Large particle size prevents it from remaining airborne and assures its being trapped in vacuum bags.

  6. Wet Methods Dry Methods MilliCare Competitive Dry Wet Extraction Spin Bonnet • Water-based - very low moisture. • Exclusive adsorbent chemistry • No limits on frequency of use. • Hydrocarbon solvent or cellulosic based • High frequency cleaning NOT desirable • Non-absorbent medium • Water, detergent • High frequency cleaning not desirable • Water, detergent • High frequency cleaning not desirable • No carriers or detergent residues hence no detergent or carrier related re-soiling • Soil is removed rather than moved around. This protects fibers from scarring and dulling and results in best long term appearance retention. • No optical brighteners • Removes smoke odors • No down-time • No water-related bacterial or fungal allergens fostered • Demonstrated IAQ improvements through removal of dust mite and other particulate allergens. • No Volatile Organic Compounds • Non-toxic, environmentally safe • Approved for ALL fiber types • Solvent residues and optical brighteners can dull fiber and cause yellowing. • Re-soiling • Fiber scarring from soil not retrieved • Cleaner is also hard to retrieve • Possible solvent carrier related VOCs • Larger particles provide less penetration • Fine airborne particles are left behind with some systems (10:1 difference) • Low coverage rates. • Retrieved materials are slow to decompose in landfill. • Over-wetting can occur • Long dry times • Wet methods promote growth of bacterial and fungal colonies. Odors, allergens accumulate and IAQ suffers. • Wick-back of soil means that initial good appearance following clean is deceptive • Optical brighteners may cause yellowing • Detergent residue dulls fiber and promotes re-soiling. • Must clean larger areas for uniform appearance - streaking possible • Fiber scarring danger from limits on acceptable frequencies. • Repeated use of excess water can gradually penetrate seams between modular tiles damaging adhesive and loosening tiles. • Tends to redistribute rather than remove soil. • Provides surface cleaning only requiring periodic wet extraction. • Pile distortion & yarn de-twist / unravel. Pile matting and crushing. • Leaves streaks and swirl marks. • Re-soiling results from detergent residues. • Detergent residue dulls fiber. • Uneven detergent application • Requires pre-vacuum • Fiber scarring from soil & method • Not safe for use on all fibers • Wet methods promote growth of bacterial and fungal colonies. Odors, allergens accumulate and IAQ suffers. MilliCare vs Competing Systems

  7. Industry Endorsement The Carpet and Rug Institute formally recognizes and endorses MilliCare’s Adsorbent Polymer Powder Cleaning System as a deep carpet cleaning method!

  8. Are You Concerned About MOLD! INDOOR AIR QUALITY – WET CARPET SMELL!

  9. What’s Wrong With this Picture! Trip & Fall Liability? Overwetting “MOLD”? Public Safety?

  10. Quotes - the Indoor Environment • CRI - Carpet and Rug Institute • “Abnormally high levels of mold spores are most often associated with water damage, water intrusion, failed HVAC systems, or non-existent or ineffective cleaning systems.” • “Carpet that is maintained in a clean, dry condition does not support mold growth. Clean and dry = no mold.” • CRI recognizes and endorses MilliCare’s Cleaning System as an effective carpet deep-cleaning method. • CDC - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention • Recommends “removing or replacing previously soaked carpets and upholstery.”

  11. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) – MilliCare’s Contributions • Removes particulates (soil, spores, allergens and bacteria) from carpet rather than moving them around • Works with HVAC to effectively reduce airborne particulates, bio-aerosols, and VOCs. • No water introduced into carpet to promote biological activity. No wet-carpet smell. • Removes odors from carpet • No VOC-emitting solvent carriers and fragrances

  12. The battle rages on, which is better wet or dry cleaning? • Consider this…with all the studies and news headlines about mold and it’s associated problems. Facility & Resident managers are now considering new ways to improve indoor air quality and safeguard against this problem. • The MilliCare “DRY” carpet cleaning process, is a great way to start. Carpets must be cleaned on a regular basis, it’s the kitchen sink on your facility floor that collects and holds all the dust and dirt. Daily vacuuming is recommended, programmed maintenance will do the rest.

  13. So how does MilliCare work?

  14. Application Method Six different Pre-mists may be applied, followed by Dry Cleaner • Other MilliCare Chemistries utilized include: • Detergent Residue Neutralizer • Spotters - A, B, C, D • “Crowd Control” De-Greasing Agent • Grease Emulsifier • Odor Neutralizer MilliCare 2000 Mechanically Spreads Dry Cleaner Vacuum to Retrieve Dry Cleaner

Both have been dried out for maximum absorption.

  19. MilliCare’s Concerns Through Proper Maintenance! • RETURN ON FACILITY INVESTMENTS • Lifecycle - Extend Carpet, Panel and Upholstery Serviceable Life • Time - Eliminate FM time spent on carpet maintenance problems. • Downtime - Reduce maintenance-related facility downtime • Liability - Reduce Potential for Slip-and-Fall Liability Claims • IMAGE • Image - Protect Facility Investment in Brand / Image • Retention / Absenteeism - Complement to Employee Hiring / Retention / Productivity Objectives • Complaints - Reduce Volume of Employee Complaints to Facility Management • INDOOR AIR QUALITY (IAQ) • Retention / Absenteeism Assist efforts to reduce employee absenteeism and improve retention & productivity • Complaints - Reduce Volume of Employee Complaints to Facility Management
