Weigh Well Program • 8-week program focused on healthy weight, nutrition, and physical activity • One hour a week educational session • 1:1 nutrition consultation with Registered Dietician • Wellness goal setting and weekly tips and materials • Optional: Pre and post program Fitness Assessment conducted at the UCR Student Recreation Center

Weigh Well Logistics • Program runs every Tuesday from 12 noon – 1 pm: May 12 – June 30 in Commons 268 • Weigh in’s – 5/5 through 5/12 • Fitness Assessments – Schedule today • Nutrition consultations – Schedule during week 3 • Attendance for each session • June 30th – Wrap Up and Rewards • Class size: 50 participants maximum

Weigh Well Plan • 5/12: Nutrition Basics - What's a healthy weight?, Healthy Eating Pyramid, Label Reading • 5/19: Meal Planning, Food Diary, Review Exchange Lists and Menu Plans • 5/26: Starting an Exercise Program • 6/02: Navigating the Grocery Store • 6/09: Metabolism and Weight Management • 6/16: Avoiding Portion Distortion • 6/23: Emotional Eating and Controlling Cravings • 6/30: Weight Maintenance and Mindfulness at Mealtimes

  6. Goal Setting • Weight Goal • Physical Activity Goal • Nutrition Goal • Be S.M.A.R.T. about your Goals! • Specific • Measurable • Action-oriented • Realistic • Time restrained

  7. Rewards • Meet 2 out of 3 Wellness goals and earn a $10 incentive reward • Meet all 3 Wellness goals and earn a $25 incentive reward • Raffles – for attending 7 or 8 sessions out of 8 educational sessions

  8. Enrollment and Fee • Maximum # of participants:50 • Program open to the first 50 that enroll on the Human Resources Education and Development website at: http://hrtraining.ucr.edu. Fee: $10 Includes: • 8-week program • 1:1 nutrition consultation • Wellness materials and tips • Optional: Pre and Post Fitness Assessment ($10/each)
