This Internal Assessment (IA) investigates social norms violation through a non-experimental approach. The study aims to understand participants' behaviors when confronted with norm-breaking situations, formulating a hypothesis that predicts specific reactions based on prior research. Participants were observed in controlled environments while engaging with various norm violations. Data collection involved structured observations and recordings to quantify behavioral responses. The findings are analyzed in relation to the initial hypotheses, acknowledging limitations and offering suggestions for future research on social behavior and norms.

Social Norms Violation – Write UP A non-experimental practice for the Internal Assessment (IA)
Introduction • Introduce the framework and background research • For this write up you will cover: • A rationale and justification for your study • The aim of your study – a clear statement about what is being investigated and what is expected • A hypothesis – a clear, concise prediction of what is expected to be demonstrated and how you operationalized it (eg. how you quanitified your data) • A null hypothesis
Method • Design – type of research conducted and why; ethical considerations • Participants – researchers involved and target population; sampling procedure and size of sample used • Materials – clear outline of materials/apparatus used • Procedure- where the research was undertaken, instructions given to participants and any other relevant details (consent, debriefing if done, etc) • Recording of observations – what you did and why; method used, description of forms or means of recording
Results • Narrative presentation of results related to the aim and hypothesis of the experiment • Explanation of how you interpreted the results • Do not include personal details of participants (should be regarded as confidential)
Discussion • Explanation of findings – detailed account; why results would occur in relation to known research • Relationship to initial aim and hypothesis • Limitations, modifications and suggestions for further research
Conclusion • Finish with a concluding summary of the findings as related back to the aim and hypothesis • Short paragraph is fine
