Display Open sourcing Status

This summary provides an update on the status of OMAP4 display patches as of 18th August 2010. A consensus has been reached in the Linux OMAP community regarding a framework for capturing Display Subsystem (DSS) features across various OMAP versions, facilitating the introduction of OMAP4-specific display features. An HDMI Request for Comments (RFC) is currently in progress, with the first version expected to be submitted next week. Additionally, work on OMAP3 display patches will commence after the release of version L24.9, targeting a start date of 16th August.
