  2. Is sociology a science???? • Just 3 minutes POSTIVIST, OBJECTIVE, METAPHYSICAL PARADIGM, POPPER, CUMULATIVE EMPIRICLE, SOCIAL FACTS, INTERPRETIVIST

Running dictation • In groups of 3 • 6 different texts • 2 per person • Swap dictating after each text – (the person who was dictating can copy up the text from their partner while the second person is reading the text) • Complete notes on all six onto you mind map • Quickest most accurate group wins!

  4. ‘Is Sociology a Science?’ • Complete essay sorting exercise. • Paragraph 1 – 7 bits on positivism • Paragraph 2 – 7 bits on interpretivism • Paragraph 3 – 4 bits on realism • Paragraph 4 – 9 bits on science and whether or not it is always objective • Paragraph 5 – 5 bits on values affecting science and sociology • Paragraph 6 – 4 bits – concluding.
