  4. As a person… Irascible about… • Pet Peeves • Being late to class • Talking when I’m talking • Asking something I’ve just explained • Getting out of your chair while I’m talking • Packing up before class is over • Putting on make-up or nail polish during class • Combing hair during class

  16. Class expectations… What I expect • Courtesy • Punctuality • Responsibility • Honesty • Self-discipline • Respect • Effort

  17. Courtesy • 1. excellence of manners or social conduct; polite behavior. • 2. a courteous, respectful, or considerate act or expression. Looks like: • Not talking when I talk • Not talking when someone else has the floor • Taking turns

  18. Punctuality • 1. strictly observant of an appointed or regular time; not late; prompt. Looks like • Being on time • Having a note from teacher/admin if late • Going to Ms. Stalburger if arriving after the bell

  19. Class expectations… Bathroom pass & punctuality • Bathroom Pass = your day- planner • Time limit -- 5 minutes • As needed, unless becomes habitual • No passes first or last 10 minutes of class • If you “gotta go” and the line is long, come see me

  27. SAVE YOURSELF RULE #1 • I dismiss the class; the bell does not. Looks like • Wait until I say the magic words, “Class dismissed,” before getting up to walk out the door.

  29. SAVE YOURSELF RULE #3 • Look at the side board to see what we are doing each day.

  30. SAVE YOURSELF RULE #4 • Bring these to class every day • Pencil (10¢ buy in class) • Pen (25¢ buy in class) • Paper • Binder • Do these • Major assignments in blue or black ink only • Daily work okay with pencil • Tear scraggly-tags off left side of spiral papers
