  3. Results 1. Begin by re-stating the hypothesis you were testing or answering the research questions posed in the introduction and/or the literature review. 2. Support the answers with the results. Address all the results relating to the questions, regardless of whether or not the findings were statistically significant. 3. Describe the patterns, principles, and relationships shown by each major finding/result and put them in perspective. If necessary, point the reader to a figure or table to enhance the “story”.

  4. Discussion • Relate the Findings to Those of Similar and/or different Studies • Explain the Meaning of the Findings and Why the Findings Are Important • Consider Alternative Explanations of the Findings

  5. Q1. Do the teaching beliefs of effective instruction of Vietnamese EFL teachers run consistent with their classroom practices? • Q2. What are the factors that cause the congruity/incongruity?

  6. Conclusion • Summary of main findings • Suggestions • Limitations • Directions for future research

  7. References - APA I. In-text citation Direct quotation – use quotation marks around the quote and include page numbers • Samovar and Porter (1997) point out that "language involves attaching meaning to symbols" (p.188). • Alternatively, “Language involves attaching meaning to symbols" (Samovar & Porter, 1997, p.188).

  8. Indirect quotation/paraphrasing – no quotation marks • Attaching meaning to symbols is considered to be the origin of written language (Samovar & Porter, 1997).

  9. Citations from a secondary source • As Hall (1977) asserts, “culture also defines boundaries of different groups” (as cited in Samovar and Porter, 1997, p. 14).
