  2. Kindergarten • Kindergarten teachers use DP as a means to access Starfall by clicking on Reading Games. • DP is mainly used for reading centers. The students work on phonics, syllable websites and anything else that the reading area has to offer that is at the appropriate level. Looking to start using it in whole group settings as well.

  3. 1st Grade • Just now introducing it as whole group instruction. Used in centers. Math and Reading • We have used it to find activities to go along with Chinese New Year and Read Across America Week. Show Videos to reinforce lesson. • We are also using it with intervention groups as whole group activities, especially the phonics websites.

  4. 2nd Grade • Using DP as whole group activity to reinforce reading concepts in intervention groups. An an example would be a lesson using the frog game reinforcing antonyms/synonyms. • Center based activities/games giving more practice to the lesson • Use as free time when work is done. Go into math or reading rooms.

  5. 3rd Grade • DP is used in the mornings as free time activity after morning work is completed. • Intervention uses it for skill building in multiplication . You are able to set the child’s ability level. • In science instruction, it is used to help research animals, show videos of volcanos, and to do science experiments.

  6. 4th Grade • DP is used in whole group activity in reading and math with the aid of the smartboard, students are able to come up and participate in the lesson. • In science it is being used to show examples of landforms, rock cycle, to research topics and to complete science experiments. • In reading, teachers are finding pre-tests about topics, having students take them and using them as a baseline for instruction.

  7. 5th Grade • DP is used in review of parts of speech by using Wacky Web Tales and Jr. Mad Libs. • In math, DP is used in conjunction with the smartboard for whole class instruction. • Within science, using the research capability, the video collections and the interactive lessons has offered a new dimension to the student’s learning. • DP is also used during free time.

  8. Library/Special Needs • Teachers use DP 1-3 times a week as centers to primarily reinforce concepts with reading and math. • DP is used to introduce students to the world of technology and this year I am incorporating DP within my library instruction time.
