  4. Tabletop Exercise Goal • Identify the relationships between Public Health and healthcare providers necessary to recognize and respond to pandemic influenza and detect the first case in Alabama.

  5. Specific Objectives • Identify the joint response capabilities between Public Health and healthcare providers in 3 key response categories: • Surveillance & Epidemiology • Specimen Collection • Laboratory Procedures

  6. Issue Areas • Improve reporting and detection of pandemic influenza. • Increase ability for timely investigation and response. • Increase capacity to rapidly respond to a pandemic threat.

  7. Ground Rules • Participate in your usual daily role. • Your input may come from your own opinions and/or the policies of your facility.

  8. Expectations • No organization is fully prepared for this type of public health emergency. • Open and honest dialog and feedback are encouraged.
