Bilateral:1) INSC Project U3.01/10 (UK/TS/46) “Support to SNRIU in the field of radioactive waste management” (Component A) and UK/RA/09 “Harmonisation of regulatory requirements on nuclear and radiation safety” (Component B) 2) INSC Project CIS3.01/11 (U3.01/11A) “Cooperation with SNRIU in licensing and supervision activities connected with the implementation of the Joint Safety Improvement Program at Ukrainian NPPs” 3) INSC Project U3.01/12 (UK/TS/48-49-50) “Support to the Ukrainian Regulatory Authority” In 2015 the following INSC Projects have successfully finished: - INSC Project U3.01/08 (UK/TS/39-40) “Cooperation with SNRCU for the licensing of radioactive waste management facilities and for the validation of soft on-site assistance (NPP level)” - INSC Project U3.03/08 (UK/TS/41-44) “Support to SNRIU in activities related to NPP safe operations of risk-informed approaches (operation and maintenance), integrated NPP safety oversight system, severe accident analysis and management, regulatory issues about reactor pressure vessel operations” - INSC Project INSC U3.04/08 (UK/TS/45) “Support to SNRIU in the regulatory activity during commissioning of the radioactive waste processing facilities at Rivne NPP and Zaporizhya NPP”. 2. International: MC3.01/13 “Training and Tutoring for experts of the NRAs and their TSOs for developing or strengthening their regulatory and technical capabilities”

National: 1) Strengthening of a Secondary Standards Dosimetry Laboratory for Radiation Therapy Dosimetry; 2) Defining Safety Goals and Regulatory Strategies for New Build and Long Term Operation Nuclear Power Plants; 3) Developing Decontamination, Recultivation and Reconstruction Infrastructure for Existing Uranium Mines and Former Uranium Production Facilities; 4) Supporting Radioactive Waste Management and Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning 2. Regional:1) RER9134 Enhancing Safety in Accordance with the IAEA Action Plan on Nuclear Safety; 2) RER9135 Strengthening Radiation Protection of Patients and Medical Exposure Control; 3) RER9136 Reducing Public Exposure to Radon by Supporting the Implementation and Further Development of National Strategies; 4) RER9138 Enhancing Capacities in the Member States for Management of Decommissioning Projects. 3. Others: Ukrainian-Swedish bilateral cooperation (“Technical support to SNRIU database for nuclear material accountancy and control”; “Physical Protection Courses”) Ukrainian-German bilateral cooperation (“The exchange of scientific and technical experience between Germany and the CIS countries, the Baltic States, Central and Eastern Europe and other regions - workshops and the creation of joint databases in the area of nuclear safety and physical security”) Ukrainian-Norwegian bilateral cooperation (“Ukrainian Regulatory Threat Assessment”; “Regulation of radiation protection in uranium industry (URAN)”; “Regulation of radiation protection sources used in medicine” (MEDICINE)

  7. Lessons Learned: What could be improved? In the organisation: 1) to enhance interaction between the lecturer and the audience; 2) to specify the content of test tasks; 3) to conduct on-site visits to facilities (though it requires additional days to the total duration of the course). In the catalogue: to divide courses into corresponding levels (basic, intermediate, advanced) so that courses on particular topics may provide an overall and step-by-step information for participants. Among other issues, if possible, to accelerate application consideration procedure (plus providing invitations and reservations) due to necessity of getting visa.
