  1. SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES II By Sam Luttmann

  2. CHARACTERS • Jared Grace – Jared is a boy who is not smart and he gets in trouble a lot at school. • Simon Grace – Simon is a boy who is smart and he loves animals. Jared and Simon are twins. • Mallory Grace– Mallory is a girl who loves fencing and the outdoors. She is Simon and Jared’s older sister. • Thimbletack – He is a little man (boggart) who lives in the Grace’s house and helps the kids.

  3. SETTING • Woods/forest • Jared, Simon and Mallory’s house • General Setting – The woods is where most of the story takes place.

  4. PROBLEM • The problem in this story is that Simon gets attacked by goblins and nobody can see the goblins.

  5. SOLUTION • The solution is that Jared and Mallory find a seeing stone and this lets them see the goblins. The seeing stone lets them look for Simon in the forest.

  6. PLOT • Simon, Mallory and Jared live in spooky old house near the woods. One day when Jared and Mallory were in the shed, Simon was looking or Tibbles the cat and the goblins came to get Simon. Simon was attacked and dragged to their lair. Mallory and Jared ruffled through the boxes because they were told by Thimbletack that there was a way to see Simon.

  7. PLOT (2) • Mallory and Jared found the seeing stone in a box and they went to look for Simon. On the way, they saw a troll in the pound and it tried to them. It took Mallory’s fencing sword away from her and threw it away. They were without a weapon. Then, the sun came out. The troll started to quiver and then he went back into the pond.

  8. PLOT (3) • Now, they are in the goblin’s lair and they saw cages up on the trees. Jared thought that maybe Simon would be in one of the cages that were big. So he climbed up the tree and saw Simon. Hogsqueal was another goblin who was captured and in a cage. He yelled for Jared to let him out and Jared did. Jared found Simon too and let him go.

  9. PLOT (4) • Simon found a Griffin (a bird that is half lion/half eagle) and tried to fix his wound. He was able to do this. Simon let the Griffin stay in the horse stable of their house to get better. • THE END
