The next step in the housing selection process is forming roommate groups. If you are interested in living in a double, suite, quad, apartment or townhouse, this is an essential part of the process to move forward.  This must be completed first before you can choose a space in the residence halls. You may begin forming these groups on February 27. To form a group, first you must log into the Housing & Dining Self Service via the Tools menu at top right of the page on the mylasalle portal.   Once on the main page, choose Room & Roommate Selection then Roommates/Suitemates on the top menu. You must form your roommate group by Wednesday, March 30. PLEASE NOTE: You must be a full time registered student for the Fall 2018 semester by Friday, April 6 to participate in the housing selection process. 12. This is what you do not want to have. This is an unmatched group as Heeza has not responded to John’s request yet. This is what you want to see in a fully matched group. Ellen (who made the request) is paired up these three women to select a suite in Basil.

  13. Roommate Profile (optional) • Select “Personal Information” and go to “Roommate Profile” • Decide to make your profile public or private • Select contact preference and fill out contact information • Complete My Profile (follow appropriate guidelines) This is your opportunity to give any informationyou would like prospective roommates to know aboutyou! It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  14. Roommate Profile Guidelines Ideas of what to put in your profile: What you should not put in your profile: Any personal contact information (phone number, etc.) Your current room address or home address Your current or upcoming schedule Information about anyone other than yourself Any harassing or discriminatory information Be aware that all language is monitored and will be addressed accordingly • Your major • Your class year • Area demographic (Connecticut, Greater Philadelphia Area, Western New York); we recommend not putting hometown • Your interest • Favorite sports and sport team • Favorite past-time • Favorite book/genre • Favorite restaurant • Favorite travel destination • What kind of environment you wish to live in • What kind of roommate you are looking for

  15. Priority Numbers • Student will receive an individual priority number as well as a group priority number. Low number is BETTER. • This number is based on your total number of earned credit hours plus your cumulative GPA. • Your individual number (for a single room) determines what time you are eligible to log on and sign up for housing. The lower your number the earlier you are eligible to begin. • For those students who have formed a roommate group, the average will determine the priority number. • Priority Numbers will be posted on Monday, April 9 on your Housing & Dining Self-Service main page under the Room Selection section. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  16. Priority Numbers (example) • Mary and her four friends are looking to go into a townhouse during housing selection. The group average gives them a priority number of 84. • Jill and her four friends are also looking to choose one of the townhouses. The group average gives them a priority number of 71. • Since Jill’s group has a lower priority number of 71 (vs. 84 for Mary), Jill’s group will select before Mary’s group. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  17. Townhouse Selection • Students looking to live in the townhouses will choose their housing on this day. (see schedule) • You must have a group of five to choose this option. If you only have three people in your group then you will not be able to select a space. • When a group is fully matched, anyone in the group can select a townhouse. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  18. Apartment Selection • Students looking to live in two or three person apartments will choose their housing during this day. (see schedule) • You must be able to fill the apartment. The housing selection system will only show you spaces based on your group size. • If you have two people then you will only see the two person apartment options. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  19. General Room Selection • Students looking for a single room, double room or suite will choose their housing on this day. (see schedule) • You must be able to fill a room if you are looking to live in a double or suite. For example, if you want to live in a double you need two people; four for a suite • When you are selecting as a group, you will have the option to break the group down if there are no more suites are available. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  20. Room Selection • View your room selection start time and process • Choose your room by going to “Select a Room/Suite” • Only rooms eligible in your selection process will be available • For example, if you selecting during the apartment selection process, only Teresa Court and La Salle Apartments will be viewable • Confirm your housing assignment by viewing your assignment on the Self Service main page It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  21. Housing Wait List • Students who did not have an opportunity to select housing during the housing selection process can fill out the wait list form on their Self Service page beginning on April 19. • This list is also for students who did not sign up in time for the housing selection process or otherwise need to apply for housing outside of the regular housing selection process. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  22. Request for Health/Medical Accommodations • The Housing Accommodations Request form is available on the Housing selection website under the Health/Accommodations tab • http://studentaffairs.lasalle.edu/housingselection/files/2011/05/Housing-Accommodations-Request-Form.pdf • You must provide medical documentation to Residence Life & Community Development by March 23 • Accommodations are based on space availability and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis • The Housing Accommodations Request form must be submitted on an annual basis It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  23. Frequently Asked Questions Can I move off-campus mid-year? • If you choose to live on campus (especially juniors and seniors), do not assume that you will be released fromyour housing contract for the Springsemester. • When signing the Housing and Dining Contract, you agree to live on campus for the fullacademic year. • You must submit a Housing Release form for your request to be reviewed and considered. • Students can be granted release from the Housing and Dining Contract if they are withdrawing from the University, leave of absence, financial hardship, full time internship or marriage It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  24. Frequently Asked Questions What if I want to live with an incoming new student? • Unfortunately, that will not be possible. The housing selection process is only for current students and the placement for incoming students happens at a later time. • Also an incoming student such as a new freshman will not be eligible to live in upperclassmen housing. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  25. Frequently Asked Questions I want to live in (insert housing here). Will I be able to select a suite/apartment/room that I want? • It's difficult to say whether or not certain spaces will be available by the time your selection time is up. • Every year selection runs a little bit differently. • The best thing to do is create several plans for room selection. If your first or second choice is not available, go with your third option. It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle

  26. Frequently Asked Questions Can off-campus students go through the Housing Selection process? • Yes, any current La Salle student will be able to go through the housing selection process • Complete all required steps (register for classes, fill out the housing application, etc.) • Any off-campus student wishing to move on campus after housing selection is completed, will have to fill out a wait list form through the Housing & Dining Self Service main page • This form will be available online after the selection process has been completed It’s not just a room, it’s alifestyle
