  2. Introduction • Supply chain management plays a huge role in a wide range of functions for almost every organization. • It compasses the collection of steps that a company takes to transform raw material into final products, it can seem daunting to the most experienced businesses

  3. Plan • Whether to manufacture a product or component or buy from a supplier, this part of the supply chain process is helpful to find out the best possible blueprint of how to fulfil the basic requirements that will yield maximum profit. • For instance, if the company is manufacturing on their own they must decide how they will manufacture and make a list of few key components like: • Plant location and size • Delivery model • Transportation

Source • Now the procurement of raw materials so that the production process would never jeopardize. • This involves not only identifying the suppliers but also the challenging conditions that may arise during the operations. • You can easily combine all the processes of handling the inventory, receiving and examining shipments, pricing, payment processes with suppliers and it will also create metrics for controlling and improving the relationships.

Execute This stage involves scheduling of production activities and everything is implemented according to the existing plans of the products which are manufactured and are ready for testing, packaging, and synchronized for delivery. It is the stage where the managers can gauge the quality levels, at what level the production is taking place and the productivity of each worker, data that must be stored and regulatory compliance.

  6. Deliver • Here the products are delivered to the customers at the destined location by the supplier. • The management tool will help the managers to keep a track on the inventory, warehousing networks as well as the receipts of orders from the customers. • From pick carriers to delivery of products to customers everything can be handled collaboratively at one place.

  7. Return • The last and final step of the supply management process is Returns. • It not only involves the products returned by the customer to the supplier but also staging the defective or damaged goods and managing the inventory. • With the process in line the managers can check where the support is needed for faster pick ups and quicker replacements.
