  3. Igneous rocks are made directly from cooling magma • Igneous rocks can be made under the earths surface or when the magma erupts from volcanoes can cool on the earths surface. • Some examples are Igneous Rocks Granite Scoria Pumice Obsidian

  4. Sedimentary Rocks are made from eroded pieces of the earth that come to rest in bodies of water. • Over time layer after layer of eroded earth form together and form a Sedimentary Rock • Some Examples are Sedimentary Rocks Sandstone Limestone Shale Gypsum

  5. Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have been “morphed” into another kind of rock • Metamorphic rocks were at one time either Igneous rocks or Sedimentary rocks. • These rocks are formed by pressure being put on Igneous or Sedimentary rocks which in time changes them. • Some examples are Metamorphic Rocks Schist Gneiss
