  5. Homework Policy • Students will receive homework Monday – Thursday. Homework will be checked for completion daily, and grades will be taken weekly.

  6. Projects, Competitions, & Campus Fairs • Students will be required to complete 1 project each six weeks. Students will also be required to participate in the Science Fair and 2 additional fairs or competitions of their choice (History Fair, Literacy Fair, Technology Fair, Black History Essay Contest, Oratorical Contest, Spelling Bee, Math Quiz Bowl).

  7. Agendas • Fourth graders are encouraged to become more independent and responsible. Each child will be given an agenda, in which they will write daily assignments and reminders. To help foster the responsibility of organization, please review and sign the agenda nightly.

  8. Tuesday Folders • Each student will have a Tuesday folder. The folder will have graded papers from the previous week. The left pocket of the folder will contain work to keep at home. Please sign and return work located in the right folder pocket.

  9. Conference • My conference time is from 12:25-1:25 by appointment only. Conferences can also be scheduled before school, after school, or by phone.

  10. Field Trips • Fall Field Trip: Fort Worth Museum of Science and History ($8.50) • Spring Field Trip: Fort Worth Zoo ($5.00) • Field Trip fee for the year: $13.50- Due October 2, 2012 • (Payment plans are available by request.)

  11. Things We’re Always in Need Of: • Pencils • Treasure box prizes (no edible items) • Sentence Strips • Scotch Tape AND Packing Tape • Kleenex and Clorox Wipes • Volunteers!!! • Dry Erase Markers

  12. Assessments • Common Assessments – will be located on website • Formative Assessments – Oct. 17 and 18 • STAAR – Writing, Reading, Math • Spelling Tests – no retests on spelling tests

  13. New Dress Code • Khakis • Jeans – any color (no decorations) • Polo style black, red, and white • No large logos

  14. League of Our Own • Every Thursday from 3:20-4:20 • Be sure to bring back your green sheet ASAP to have a chance at being in your top choice for League!
