  12. THE ROLE OF TEACHING IN DOCTORAL STUDIES (OF EDUCATION) TEACHING PRACTICE RESEARCH

DISSERTATION WRITING AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES FORMAL REQUIREMENTS • Submitted dissertation in 3 years after the complex exam - pre-defense and public defense • 112 research credits in 2+2 years (44%), including • publications - at least 3 articles (first author) in a peer-reviewed journal or book (one in a foreign language) • conference participation • individual research or part of a research group, in both stages, based on approved study plan ( Stage 1) or research plan (Stage 2) for each semester - certificate of completion signed by supervisor, programme leader and head of doctoral school

  15. CONCLUSION: REFLECTIONS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCES IN THE NEW SYSTEM OF DOCTORAL EDUCATION OLD SYSTEM 3years in student status NEW SYSTEM 2+2 years in student status increased amount of scholarship → scholarship recipients do not need to work in another job

  16. CONCLUSION: REFLECTIONS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCES IN THE NEW SYSTEM OF DOCTORAL EDUCATION OLD SYSTEM MORE COURSEWORK NEW SYSTEM MORE RESEARCH AND TEACHING CREDITS

CONCLUSION: REFLECTIONS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCES IN THE NEW SYSTEM OF DOCTORAL EDUCATION OLD SYSTEM after 3 years → no exam- FINAL EXAM linked to (preceding) the submission of the dissertation, no compulsory defence of Research Proposal candidates have FLEXIBILITY when to submit the dissertation - BUT typically do so only quite a few of years later (if at all…) NEW SYSTEM after 2 years → COMPLEX EXAMincluding defending RESEARCH PROPOSAL complete and submit the dissertation in 3 YEARS after the complex exam
