Recap!! • An independent clause is a complete sentence. It has a noun, verb, and complete thought. • In sentences with a semicolon, there must be only independent clauses. • In sentences with semicolons, you do not need a comma or conjunction. • When a sentence has the words however, therefore, as a result, etc., you write a semicolon, the word, then a comma.
