  1. Welcome to the Library!! Library Hours: Monday - 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM T, W,Th – 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday – 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM

  2. Library Staff: Mr. Clark – Librarian Ms. Ortiz – Librarian Mrs. Olson – Library Assistant, a.m. Mrs. Mirabella – Library Assistant, p.m.

  3. What the Library Can Offer You • Hands-on help from real, live librarians • Catalog • Online databases: school and home • Books, Videos and DVDs • Newspapers and Magazines • Computers and printers • Textbooks (to be used in the library)

  4. Be Courteous! Use your library time wisely to get your work done, and let others do theirs.

  5. This Ain’t the Olympic Stadium!

  6. Eat and drink somewhere else. Really. • Don’t even bring it in. • Computers are especially vulnerable to spills and messes.

  7. Return items on time. Someone else needs a turn. • Pay fines and IOUs as soon as possible. • Your library account has to be clear in order to receive: • Student ID cards • Parking permits • Graduation tickets

  8. Follow the LHS cell phone policy while in the library. • Cell phones can only be used in the library before and after school.

  9. Follow the SR&R in using school computers: • Use library and lab computers for schoolwork. • Only use Facebook, IM and other chat programs, or games when specifically instructed by a teacher to do so. • Do not remove, change, damage, or destroy any hardware or software.

  10. Learn to use the P: drive. Use the P: drive to save your work to your own account at Langley. This will save you hours of pain and misery. If you DON’T save to the P: drive, your work is lost forever. There is no way to retrieve it.

  11. First Time Computer Log-In Username: Student ID number Password: Student ID number plus initials (3 if you have a middle name, 2 if you don’t) Example: John Jay Smith, ID # 123456 The first time he logs in, John types “123456” as his username and “123456jjs” as his password.

  12. The Langley Library has many great resources for you. TAKE ADVANTAGE . of them all!
