  1. Dealing with the Deep • Proverbs 4:23 • Our past plays a huge part in our present situation. Many of us have allowed things that have gone on in the past to shape and mold who we are and what we have in the present. • You have to own it to disown it.

  6. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. Colossians 3:5-7

  13. “The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. Matthew 18:21-35

  14. “’Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded. His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’ But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. Matthew 18:21-35

  15. “When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, Matthew 18:21-35

  16. “’I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. Matthew 18:21-35

  17. “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.” Matthew 18:21-35

  18. Dealing with Offenses and Violations “Not forgiving is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” Acknowledge your pain and anger. Allow yourself to feel disrespected. Be specific about your future expectations and limits. Give up your right to “get even,” but insist on being treated better in the future.

  24. Dealing with Regrets You can’t change what you did or didn’t do but you can change from it. 1. Admit what you did was wrong or hurtful. 2. Try to understand/empathize with the pain you have caused. 3. Take responsibility for your actions and make restitution if necessary.

  27. Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. Exodus 15:22-27

  28. (That is why the place is called Marah.) So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. Exodus 15:22-27

  29. There the LORD made a decree and a law for them, and there he tested them. He said, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees,… Exodus 15:22-27

  30. …I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water. Exodus 15:22-27
