  2. Step 1 • First, fill in your predictions for each of the 8 vocabulary words. • What do you think that word means?

  4. Factory = (noun) a building where goods are manufactured or assembled chiefly by machine • Industrialization = (noun) the large-scale introduction of manufacturing into an area • Industry = (noun) the sum of manufacturing in a particular field, named after its principal product

  5. Interchangeable Parts = (noun) components that are identical and can fit into any assembly of the same type • Mill = (noun) a building equipped with machinery for grinding • Steam Engine = (noun) an engine that uses the rapid condensation of steam to generate power

  6. Textile = (noun) a type of cloth or woven fabric • Urbanization = (noun) process of becoming more like a city, including developing industry
