History of TaskStream at Loyola (nutshell) • Initiative: housed in Center for Experiential Learning, in partnership with Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy • Spring 2011: TaskStream selected to replace existing ePortfolio system • Fall 2011: Pilot with courses, academic programs, and co-curricular program • Spring 2012-Spring 2014: Continue slow roll-out • Fall 2014: ePortfolios for all! Why use ePortfolios for Assessment? • Measure student progress on course/program student learning outcomes • Work can be submitted/assessed at multiple time points (formative) • Work can be submitted/assessed only at end of the program (summative) • Easy to use rubrics , standards, and rating forms to assess student work • Can allow students flexibility in selecting material to address outcomes • Allows for multimodal representations of learning • Easy to allow multiple assessors
What Can We Do? • Assist with: • Rubric/rating form creation • Developing learning outcomes • Setting up directed response folios (DRFs) to match outcomes • Selection/creation of assessment techniques/materials • Plans for using DRFs across semesters/years • Evaluation in TaskStream • Create web templates • Assist in selecting Web 2.0/multimedia tools to use
