H.D. Weathington • My great-grandfather H.D. Weathington was a highly touted baseball player. He was offered a contract by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The day before he was supposed to report to training camp, he was riding a motorcycle half-drunk when he had a wreck. It beat his body up and he never played baseball again. His life turned for the worse when he decided to just drink and live on the wild side. When he was 60 years old, he was traveling all across the country driving 18-wheelers. He stopped in Houston, Texas at night. He decided it would be a great idea to run across the interstate in the pitch black to a liquor store. As he was running across he was hit by a girl in a red mustang, where he died.
