  2. Retail Unix Shared (Nimbus) These folks have both a backroom and a control panel. Use backroom for buying things and Control panel for managing account. Separate logins but they can be the same user/ password. Both are provided to customer when site is set up by email activation. Below sample backroom then control panel. Backroom Control panel

  3. Retail WindowsShared These folks have at least a control panel. Unsure what is situation with backroom? Help? Also not sure where they are provisioned or if there is a difference on legacy or not? Help? Backroom Control panel

  4. OEM Unix Shared (Autobahn) These folks have a control panel and a DIFFERENT looking backroom that they link to from the control panel in the top left corner. Need to re-login to get to it. Separate logins but they can be the same user/ password. Both are provided to customer when site is set up by email activation. Below sample control panel THEN backroom (they call account control panel). Once you are in to the account version, you can toggle back and forth with top menu. Wendy SP comment: this may be like Autobahn I’m not sure!! Account Control panel (like backroom) Control panel

  5. Retail Windows VWS These folks have a control panel and maybe more. Help? I noticed that for two different accounts I have two different versions of this control panel (one has fewer icons regardless of both being Pro accounts). Not sure why. backroom Control panel

  6. Retail / Reseller Linux VPS / MPS These folks have a backroom and a control panel. The backroom looks the same as the Nimbus Shared Unix accounts but the control panel looks totally different. Use backroom for buying things, control panel for configuring things. They call the control panel here “CPX”. backroom Control panel – CALLED CPX Questions Why can’t I log in directly from that first url? What of these can I brand? Why are there no mention of the basic tools we have on the other like stats, web site things.

  8. KEN MAIER’S COMMENTS ON BACKROOM • Shared Hosting is owned by WHS (Mark’s team) – they are responsible for Unix Legacy, Signature and all Windows products • All retail customers using shared products have a companion ACCOUNT control panel.  This account control panel is owned by Integrated Solutions (Ken’s team).  The integration of this account control panel is different on each product. • The SaaS products have vendor supplied vendor control panels were necessary, and in some cases have a verio-related management tool. • The Backroom (attached to Nimbus) is owned by Integrated Solutions.   Matt VanDamm is the Channel Manager for Resellers.  • It is possible for retail VPS customers to purchase shared Signature accounts on Nimbus but not frequent. • CPX is the product control panel for VPS.  This is owned by MCS (Bill Davis).   CPX is used by the VPS account owner AND the end users provisioned by the VPS account owner. • Autobahn supports Legacy Shared (Unix / Windows), Signature, PC Backup, Domains, VPS, MPS. • Nimbus supports Signature, VPS, MPS, Domains, all SaaS and Windows (via provisioning to Autobahn) • ----------- • Toshi’scomments on backroom 3/5/09 • Just to warm up our initial discussion for "New customer dashboard (backroom) replacement (one of Ken's Q3 items)", here is my thoughts. • - I don't like the name "backroom", since it is now supposed to be the most important "front end" service for our partners. I do not like the URL https://reseller.securesites.com/ , either, since it uses a NG word "reseller" and has no "verio" presence. • What feature and information should be provided through it to help our partners business? • Here is my wish list, but we need to gather more customers' voice: • - Ordering, Billing, Payment (to Verio), Account Management • - Branding and Provisioning Management to allow partners to define their default configuration for their end customers • - Domain Management • - Admin Delegation Management to allow partners to delegate certain admin tasks to their employees and/or customers (Domain management is one of the good examples) • - Service Health, Security, Backup and Capacity Monitoring Dashboard and alarm management of all Verio products they are using • - Reporting to help their sales • - Trouble Ticket Management with integrated self diagnose tools and knowledge data base • - Dist Information • - Known Bug search • - Reports to help their sales activities (such as upsell, etc.)
