  2. Missed last meeting? • Go onto our new website for the powerpoint, minutes, and any updates • Results from career choice demographic- Medicine: 8, Physical Therapy: 1, Nursing: 3, PA: 1, Occupational Therapy: 1, Genetic Counseling: 1, Dentistry: 2

  3. Long Term Volunteering • Tileston Health Clinic – Dental, Medical, Orthopedic, Eye Screening, Psychotherapy, and more • New Hanover Hospitals - Volunteer Nurse Program and College Volunteer Program • St. Mary’s Clinic – Medical and Dental • Coastal Therapeutic Riding Program

  4. Tileston Medicine Drive • Donate over-the-counter medicines! • For every 2 bottles you will get a half hour towards your 25 required hours • Max = 8 bottles for 2 hours

  5. Other Volunteer Opportunities • Habitat for Humanity • Good Shepherd Center • Cape Fear Volunteer Center • Dawn Dish Soap Drive - help clean and rehabiliate oiled birds, for every bottle we will give you 1/2 hour! • Blood Drive - Help UNCW win CAA Blood Drive Challenge and receive 1 hour! Thursday, Sept 23. Register at www.redcrossblood.org and type in code 632

  6. Stop Hunger Now • Help package meals on Saturday, November 13 • Register to volunteer through CLES at www.uncw.edu/cles

  7. IOC Yard Sale • November 20, 8 am-12 pm • Sign up to sit at table • Start thinking about items to sell • We will give hours for donations and for attending • All profits go straight to us!

  8. Walks • Windell Daniels Memorial Heart Walk -Saturday, October 16 at 10 am on UNCW campus! Email Ashley Miller at Ashley.miller@heartt.org for more information • Making Strides Against Breast Cancer – Saturday, October 16 in Downtown, Wilmington. Sign up online at American Cancer Society

  9. Halloween Carnival • October 25th 5:30-8 pm • Warwick Center • To provide a safe “trick or treating” and game environment for kids of The Boys and Girls Club • Ideas for an activity for our table? • Candy donations • Sign up if interested!

  10. Keep in mind.. • Hours sheet on the website – helpful to keep track of hours that you don’t do with us • Scholarships – one member (graduating senior and accepted into a health professions school) may apply for a scholarship! Read more at the national website

  11. Fundraising Ideas • Bake Sale – date? • Tshirts - donate extra $$ made? • Fundraise for any specific organizations?

The Future of AED • Facebook/Twitter page? • SGA budget • Anyone can attend meetings to earn us points (1 point/meeting) • 4 points = Special Activities Fund which is worth $2,000/yr for travel events and more • 4 points = Operational Budget which can be used for promotional materials and more • Next IOC meeting: October 13 at 3 pm
